Wind the recent strong winds, any ice that remained on the lakes went out early this week. As the temperatures start warming, the traditional spring spots should start holding panfish. Check those bays, harbors, and shorelines for crappies. Little Jim's Bait (320) 274-5297
Last weekend there were some very limited ice fishing options, but those have quickly come to an end. Shorelines on most lakes have deteriorated and main lake ice has become soft very fast as well. The ice on many lakes is also starting to turn black, especially with the rain early this week....
Anglers were walking on some of the area lakes, but the shorelines have pulled away on most, so you might have to be creative to get on them this weekend. Venture out to Clearwater Lake, Lake Sylvia, Lake John, Maple Lake, French Lake, and Sugar Lake to catch some sunfish and crappies in 5-15 ft.,...
