Much of the main lake ice that had started to form this week, was chewed up by some strong winds. Several nights and days of cold, calm weather could allow ice to develop fast. Ice remains almost nonexistent, however, there is some pond ice and a thin layer on the very shallow bays.

Using a jig and minnows has worked to catch walleyes on Clearwater Lake in 12-18 ft. or Lake Sylvia in 15- 20 ft. Most of the ice that had started should be gone this weekend.
Mallards and geese are most abundant, however, a few ringbills and other divers remain.
