Malcolm Hansen, 80

Malcolm “Mickey” Hansen, age 80, of Buffalo, passed away on August 31, 2019.

He was born on April 4, 1939 in Aitkin. Mickey was the owner/operator of Hansen’s Hidden Acres Strawberry Farm and member of the Local IBEW #292.

Visitation for Mickey will be Friday, September 6, beginning at 5:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral chapel. Funeral service will be Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. at The Peterson Chapel of Buffalo. Reception to follow the service at the chapel. Private family interment to be held at Macville Cemetery in Swatara.

Arrangements were entrusted to The Peterson Chapel of Buffalo.

 


Thomas Sicora, 90

Thomas Sicora, age 90, of Buffalo, passed away on August 21, 2019.

He was born on February 7, 1929 in Aberdeen, South Dakota, to George and Hattie Mae (Pettengill) Sicora. Thomas graduated from North High School in 1946.

He was introduced to Mary Ann “Birdie” Bernhardt through a blind date arranged through his sister Marge. Tom and Birdie were united in marriage in 1951 at St. Bridget in Minneapolis.

Thomas served in the united States Marine Reserves and Army from 1948 until 1957. Thomas and Birdie were blessed with eight children. Thomas was the co-founder and President of RC Printing Inc., Golden Valley.

Described by all as a wonderful person, full of warmth and kindness to everyone he met. He had a forever twinkle in his eye when you walked in the room, and an abundance of humor and hugs, leaving you filled with joy.

Thomas is survived by: his wife, Mary Ann of 68 years; children, Dean Sicora, Mary (Warren) Sicora, Diane Fillibeck, Rita (David) Sicora, Lynn (Charlie) Sicora, Robert Sicora, Wayne (Kristina) Sicora; sister, Carole Youngs; 13 grandchildren, James, Mary, Rachel, Wade, Kristen, Jennifer, Ryan, Carly, Michael, Hannah, Britta, Luke, and Leif; nine great-grandchildren, Deymon, Emilia, Malia, Gavin, Ty, Ezra, Haddie, Kendra, and Amalie; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Hattie; siblings, Ruth Lawrence, Robert Sicora, Eleanor Podvin, George Sicora, John Sicora, Marjorie Gallagher; son, Thomas M. Sicora; and granddaughter, Sarah Stradinger.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 7, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 300 1st Ave. NW Buffalo. Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the church. Private interment at St. Patrick Cemetery.

Arrangements are by Peterson Chapel, Buffalo.
