Jack Bobrowske, 66

Jack “Tex” Edward Bobrowske, age 66, of Buffalo, formerly Montrose, passed away Sunday, November 10, 2019 surrounded by his family. He was born July 15, 1953.

Jack was a graduate from Howard Lake High School with the class of 1971.

He enjoyed golfing, fishing, baseball and traveling. He was a great carpenter and always had busy hands.

He was preceded in death by: his parents, Art and Dorothy Bobrowske.

Jack is survived by: his loving wife of 21 years, Julie Bobrowske; children, Korrin (Mike) Kaufmann, Timothy (Melissa) Knox; grandchildren, Kristian, Hannah (Nathaniel), Michael, Zachary, Austin, Brandon, Hannah; siblings, Jean (Ron) Weber, Joel (Estelle) Bobrowske, Judi (Rich) Wogen; many special nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 16, at 12:30 p.m., with visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m., at The Peterson Chapel, 119 Central Ave, Buffalo.

A special thank you to the Virginia Piper Cancer Institute and Allina Hospice for their wonderful care and support for Jack.

 


Ann Dahl, 78

Ann M. Dahl, age 78, of Annandale, died Friday, November 8, 2019 at The Glenn Assisted Living in Buffalo.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, November 14, 2019 at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Annandale with Fr. Andrew Stueve as the Celebrant. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Annandale. Visitation was held from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel in Annandale with a prayer service at 6:00 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church. Memorials are preferred to the MOPS of Buffalo Covenant Church.

Ann Marie Dahl was born June 8, 1941 in St. Paul and graduated with the Class of 1959 from Annandale High School. Ann worked for 35 years at Honeywell. She loved to share her time by volunteering at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, MADD, MOPS, Annandale Senior Dining, Pioneer Park, Park View Care Center, Lake Ridge Care Center, and the Annandale Care Center. She enjoyed square dancing, compiling verses for her card making, taking and sharing photos and playing card games.

Ann is survived by: her children, Debra Hechtel (Ernie Walden) of Perryville, AR, David Dahl of Brainerd, Dennis Dahl (significant other Jenni Johnson) of Cokato and Rose Toeben (Wally Shockley) of Milaca; nine grandchidren, Joseph, Jason, Krysta, Kayla, Amanda, Elizabeth, Catrina, Greta and Andrew; great-grandchildren, Bretallica, Brailee, Austin, Elaina and one on the way; mother, Mary Carey of Woodbury; and sister Roxie (Tom) Koons of Oakdale. She was preceded in death by: her parents, Albert and Alvina Kramer; sister, Diane Gillispe; brother, Dale Kramer; and sister-in-law, Betty Kramer.

The urn bearers will be Jason Hechtel, Andrew Dahl, Amanda Toeben and Kayla Bowman. St. Ignatius Music Ministry and Tracy Hagstrom-Durant will provide the music for the service.

Elizabeth Jarvis, 83

Elizabeth “Betty” Jarvis, age 83, of rural Maple Lake, died Sunday, November 3, 2019 at Park View Care Center in Buffalo.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at St. Timothy Catholic Church in Maple Lake with Fr. Andrew Stueve as Celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Timothy Catholic Cemetery, East Maple Lake. Visitation will be held 4-7 p.m. Monday, November 25, and 9-10 a.m. Tuesday, November 26, both at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Maple Lake. A Rosary service will be held 7:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral chapel.

Elizabeth Marie Jarvis was born March 15, 1936 in Faribault, Minnesota to Carl and Elizabeth (Duchene) Oppegard. Betty graduated from Faribault High School.

On June 16, 1954 she was united in marriage to Roger B. Jarvis at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Faribault. They made their home in Osseo, where Betty cared for their home, raised their four children, and supported her husband’s dry-wall business.

In 1978, they moved to their hobby farm in rural Maple Lake. Betty remained at home, until 2018 when she entered Park View Care Center. Betty’s life was always centered around her faith and was currently a member of St. Timothy Catholic Church. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, quilting, tending to her vegetable and flower gardens, playing cards, family camping trips, and the occasional trip to a casino. She was known for her endless energy, hard work ethic and many talents.

Betty is survived by: her children, Daniel (Deborah) of Annandale, Douglas (DeAnne) of Monticello, Cindy (James) Fair of Big Lake and Mary (Rick) Tessmer of St. Michael; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; siblings, Ann (Harry) Smuda of Rice Lake, Wisconsin, and Alfred (friend, Lola) Oppegard of Las Vegas, Nevada. Betty was preceded in death by: her husband of 64 years, Roger; and her parents, Carl and Elizabeth Oppegard.

The casket bearers will be grandsons, Mark, Joe, Luke, Justin, Anthony and Jon Jarvis, Ryan and Adam Tessmer. The gift bearers will be Betty’s granddaughters, Laces Vaughn, Anna Jarvis, JeNee Olson and Kristie Tessmer. Arrangements are entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Maple Lake.

Melba Louisiana, 98

Melba Louisiana, 98, of Buffalo, passed away on Sunday, November 10, 2019.

Funeral services will be Thursday, November 14, 2019 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Buffalo. Visitation starts at 2 p.m. with funeral at 4 p.m. A dinner will be served following the service. A private interment is planned.

Melba “Honey” Florabelle (Schleif) Louisiana was born December 25, 1920 in Rockford, Minnesota. She was the 8th of 12 children and the second daughter born to Edward and Anna (Otterdahl) Schleif. Melba was baptized on January 13, 1921 at the Evangelical Lutheran Krenz Church in Rockford by Pastor

William Pankow. She was confirmed at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church on July 29, 1934 by Pastor A. Cloeter at Silver Creek. She attended school in Rockford, Enfield, Monticello and Buffalo. She graduated from Buffalo High School in 1938. During WWII she worked at Federal Cartridge in Minneapolis. After the war, she was a receptionist for Dr. Robertson in Buffalo.

On October 9, 1948, Melba was united in marriage to Milo G. Louisiana at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Buffalo. This marriage was blessed with four children, Craig, Jory, Lisa and Tamara. She was a loving wife, mother, and homemaker. She enjoyed cooking meals for her large family and always entertained for her birthday on Christmas Day. Melba and Milo shared 46 years of marriage before he passed away on April 9, 1995. They were members of St. John’s Lutheran Church and Hosanna Lutheran Church in Buffalo.

Melba was passionate about gardening. She also enjoyed working with people in various organizations, including Girl Scouting, Sunday School, LWML, Buffalo Food Shelf, Wright County Horticultural Society and GALA. She owned Louisiana Tax Service for many years, sold her business when she was 80 and continued to work for another 5 years until she retired at 85. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Melba is survived by: her children, Jory (Suzi) Louisiana of Buffalo, Lisa (Keith) Kamrath of Hutchinson, Tamara (Jeff) Oliver of Buffalo and daughter-in-law, Lana Louisiana of Elk River; grandchildren, Beth (Andrew) Keating, Casey Louisiana, Maudie (Rob) DeYoung, Edward Louisiana, Kari (Justin) Karstens, Carlie (Matthew) Tauber, Michael (Caroline) Kamrath, Jonathan (Rachel) Kamrath, Matthew Kamrath, Joshua (Leah) Kamrath, Luke Kamrath, Amanda (Aaron) Anderson, Sarah Oliver and Anna Oliver; and 18 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, James Schleif, and many nieces and nephews.

Melba was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Minnie Schleif; husband, Milo Louisiana; son, Craig Louisiana; brothers/spouses, Stanley (Dee) Schleif, Orval Schleif, Allan (Helen) Schleif, Neil Schleif, Grant (Norma) Schleif, Gordon Schleif, Wayne (Ruth) (Marjorie) Schleif, Dale (Esther) Schleif, Winton (Joan) Schleif; sister/spouse, Bernadine (Carroll) Larson; sister-in-law, Patty Schleif; sister-in-law/spouse, Avis (Kenneth) Hoaglund.

 


Cheri Salisbury, 72

Cheri Walhowe Salisbury of Pennock, MN died October 27, 2019 at the age of 72 years.  Cheri was born on February 23, 1947 in Buffalo. Cheri is preceded in death by husband, Wayne Murphy, mother and father, Wilbur and Johnny Walhowe and brother, Joseph Walhowe. Cheri is survived by her husband, Reed Salisbury, daughter Christine Drum and step-sons Mike and Jason (Kim) Salisbury, sister Carol Bitzer, brothers David and Roger Walhowe and many nieces, nephews and step grandchildren. 

A memorial service and celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2019, at the Buffalo American Legion, luncheon at 1:00 p.m. and memorial service at 2:00 p.m. with visitation afterwards until 4:00 p.m.  

We will miss Cheri’s smile, sense of humor and love for her family and friends.

 


Wendy Thibodeau, 63

Wendy Ann Thibodeau, age 63, went home to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, Nov. 4, 2019, after a courageous 2½-year battle with appendix cancer.

She was born on November 11, 1955 to Leonard and Evelyn (Nivala) Thibodeau. She graduated from Buffalo High School in 1974. She worked many jobs, from selling Artcraft to sewing for Daytons. She also worked for her sister, Cindy, did house cleaning, and more, while raising her daughter, Ashley. Later in her life, she discovered she enjoyed caring for the elderly and became a Nursing Assistant. She lived in several communities, including Minneapolis, Rockford, Waverly, New Hope Buffalo, and Glencoe.

She was preceded in death by: her father, Leonard; her mother, Evelyn; and her nephew, Mikael Taylor. She is survived by: her daughter, Ashley (Matt) Maiers; grandson, Jude Maiers; special friend, Wilbur “Red” Bushman; brothers, Bruce (Linda) Thibodeau, Craig (Lisa) Thibodeau, Keith Thibodeau; sisters, Diane (Dale) Lay, Cindy Summers; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and friends.

A Memory service was held at the New Life Assembly of God Church in Cokato on Saturday, November 9, 2019.
