During her retirement years, she thoroughly enjoyed serving as a volunteer for Monticello-Big Lake Hospice and volunteer driver for Wright County Human Service. LaVerne was instrumental, along with committee members, the fall of 2001 in starting the Divine Mercy Perpetual Adoration chapel at St. Albert’s Catholic Church. LaVerne also was a sacristan and Eucharistic Minister for masses and the homebound. She enjoyed time with family, bowling, quilting, dancing, traveling, going to movies, and playing cards. She will be remembered as a faith-filled, sincere, compassionate woman with a strong devotion to our blessed Mother Mary.
