Albert Nowack, 94

Albert Leo Nowack, age 94, of rural Buffalo, passed away on Thursday, October 17, 2024, at the Buffalo Hospital.

He was born on November 16, 1929, in Buffalo Township, Wright County, the son of Leo F. and Viola H. (Wagner) Nowack.

Albert was baptized by Pastor Weiss.

He was also instructed in the Lutheran Catechism and confirmed in the Christian faith on July 25, 1943, at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church-Pelican Lake by Pastor Nickels. His Confirmation memory verse was Philippians 1:2 “Grace and peace to you from God our Father and Lord Jesus Christ.”

Albert graduated from Buffalo High School in 1947.

On November 2, 1957, Albert L. Nowack and Arlene B. Hahnke were joined in holy marriage at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church-Pelican Lake. God blessed their marriage with three children.

Albert engaged in dairy farming in Buffalo Township for more than fifty years. He also was a former lineman for the Rice Lake Telephone Company.

Albert was a faithful member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church and taught Sunday School for thirty-two years. He served on many church boards. Albert loved the Lord!

He was a longtime school board member of District #2641.

Survived by his loving children, Linda (Mark) Hoffmann, Paul T. Nowack, and Dr. James A. (Dorothy) Nowack; four grandchildren, Mark Hoffmann Jr., Joy (Mike) Dorn, Marinda (Ryan) Kane, and Rachel (Rev. Karl) Christie; five great-grandchildren, August, Emilia, Milo, Charlotte, and Leo; and a great-grandbaby due in December; other relatives and many friends.

Preceded in death by his beloved wife, Arlene B. Nowack, in 2004; his father in 1960; and by his mother in 1995.

In lieu of flowers, memorials for The Lord’s work will be appreciated.

Funeral services for Albert Nowack will be held on Thursday, October 24, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church-Pelican Lake. Pastor Christopher Oehlke will officiate. Karen Davis will be the organist for the service.

Interment will follow at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.

A visitation was held on Wednesday, October 23, AT THE CHURCH from 4-8 P.M. Further visitation will be held one hour prior to services Thursday morning, October 24.

Casket Bearers will be Mark Hoffmann Jr., Mike Dorn, Ryan Kane, Karl Christie, Loren Weese, and Terry Weese.

Kevin Ordorff, 69

Kevin L. Ordorff, 69, of Brooklyn Park, MN (formerly of Buffalo, MN), passed away peacefully with his sons and wife by his side October 11, 2024, at North Memorial Hospital, Robbinsdale, MN.

Kevin was born November 1954, in Buffalo, MN. Son of Ralph Ordorff and Lucille (Gresen) Ordorff. Graduated from Buffalo High School in 1973. Raised two sons, Dustin and Charles. He wrestled in high school, as did his sons, for Buffalo School Dist. #877. Served his Buffalo Community as a volunteer fireman for 18 years. Worked as District Maintenance for Buffalo School District #877 and retired after 38 years with pride and dedicated service.

Married Gayle in 2006 and resided in Brooklyn Park, MN. His two sons, Dustin and Charles, blessed him with two grandchildren, Olivia and Landen.

Kevin was always willing to help his family, friends, and neighbors when needed. He loved fishing for walleyes, golfing, camping, 4-wheeling, riding motorcycles, and playing cards with family and friends. Loved a good time with laughter, jokes, and conversation. Loving, helping heart and soul. 

Proceeded in death by his mother, Lucille; father, Ralph; brother, Dwayne; and nephew, Tronn Paulson.

Survived by wife, Gayle; sons, Dustin (Jennifer), and Charles; grandchildren, Olivia and Landen. He was dearly loved by his stepchildren and step-grandchildren; siblings, Richard (Linda) Ordorff, of Buffalo, Danny (Cindy) Ordorff, of Buffalo, Renee (Tom) Burchett, of Buffalo, Shelley Fadden, of Buffalo, Rita Harris, of Florida, Sharon Beauchamp, of Wisconsin, and special brother, Tom Triplett, Hackensack, MN; and extended family.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, November 30, 2024, from 2-4 p.m. at the Buffalo American Legion, Buffalo, MN.

Errol Thomas, 62

Errol Mark Thomas, age 62, of Buffalo, passed away on Thursday, October 17, 2024, at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital. 

He was born in Chicago, Illinois, on October 6, 1962, the son of Willie Lee and Elinor (Remmer) Thomas. 

Errol was an avid collector of comic books and old western movies. He was very proud of his family! 

Survived by loving wife, Angela; a son, Errol Mark Thomas II; a stepson, Cody (Lisa) Grimit; a brother, Charles Thomas; other relatives and friends. 

Preceded in death by a son, Kiefer; his parents; and by a brother, Gregory Remmer.
