Bruce Dahlen, 82
Bruce John Dahlen, age 82, of Buffalo, MN, passed away on September 13, 2024. He was born on October 4, 1941, in Minneapolis, MN, to Marlyn and Charlotte (Lambert). He grew up in Robbinsdale, MN, and graduated from Robbinsdale High School in 1959.
He joined the Navy shortly after graduation and served in their Air Corp in northern Africa. Upon returning, he married Cheryl Rogers in August of 1963. They raised two children, a daughter, Jodi Lynn, and a son, John Charles. They moved a few times, even living in Seattle, WA, where Bruce served two more years in the Navy, and ended up in Buffalo, MN, where they have lived for almost 50 years now.
Bruce eventually attended Dunwoody Trade School to become a pipefitter welder, and he retired from that trade around the age of 59. He was an avid reader and enjoyed helping others with their piping or plumbing issues. He also enjoyed the many travels he took with Cheryl in their camper.
Bruce is survived by his wife, Cheryl; daughter, Jodi Lee (Frank); son, John (Penny) and his grandson, Benny; also, his brothers, Keith, Mark; and his sister, Diane (Magnus); sisters-in-law, Betty and Leann; and many nieces and nephews.
Bruce was proceeded in death by his parents, Marlyn and Charlotte; and brothers, Wade and Paul.
A private memorial was held for Bruce, and he will be buried in Fort Snelling National Cemetery where his parents and Cheryl’s father are buried.
Donald Drusch, 92
Donald Frederick Drusch, age 92, of Howard Lake, was called to his eternal rest on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at Park View Care Center in Buffalo.
Don was born on August 16, 1932, in Montrose, to Frederick and Katherine (Gloege) Drusch. He was baptized and confirmed in the faith at Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Delano. After graduating from Buffalo High School, Don served a two-year enlistment in Germany as a member of the United States Army.
Don married Arlene Kraft in 1956, and they were blessed with four children. Five short years later, life took a terrible turn when he lost an infant son and then his wife in death, within a two-year span.
In 1963, Don married Darlene Smith. Being blessed with three children between them, they were married for 16 years and together raised six children. Don worked hard to support his family having been employed at Dahlberg Lumber, Judd Distributing (Wausau Homes), and Donnie’s OK Hardware.
Don’s family grew again when he married Ruby Schmieg in 1980, gaining three additional step-children and their families. Together, Don and Ruby owned Donnie’s OK Hardware, enjoyed time up north at their cabin, weekly dinner at the Legion with friends, and hosted many holidays and celebrations with their big family.
Don’s hobbies included fishing, hunting, tending to his beautiful flower gardens, playing Cribbage, and many, many games of Dominoes, even just months before his death.
He is survived by his children, Steve Drusch, of Stacy, Connie (Bob) Svendsen, of Champlin, Joe (Karen) Drusch, of Howard Lake, Debbie (Michael) Vialpando, of Colorado Springs, Danny Drusch, of Park Rapids, Donna (Steve) Gatz, of Howard Lake, Barry and Teresa Schmieg, of Howard Lake, Vickie Schultz, of Mayer, and Scott Schmieg, of Eden Prairie; 24 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren, plus two more on the way; and sister, Elaine (Larry) Heyer.
Services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, October 21, 2024, at St. James Lutheran Church in Howard Lake, MN. Visitation to be held one hour prior.
In lieu of flowers, Memorials are preferred to: Howard Lake Legion Veteran’s Memorial.

Fredrick Glunz Sr., 58
Fredrick Joseph Glunz Sr., age 58, of Buffalo, passed away on Friday, October 4, 2024 at his residence.
He was born on October 10, 1965, in Buffalo, the son of Jerome H. and Kathleen (Zinken) Glunz.
Fred graduated from Buffalo High School in 1984.
He was employed for many years at U-Haul.
Fred enjoyed cooking, smoking meat, fishing, bowling and family gatherings. He formerly was on the Buffalo Rodeo Committee. Fred was a very social and soft-hearted person. He was not afraid to lend a helping hand to anyone.
Survived by his children, Fred Glunz Jr., of Maple Grove, Mia (Brian) Lardner, of Plato, Christopher Glunz, and special friend, Kaelee, and Mariah Glunz and special friend, Kaden, all of Loretto; grandsons, Leland, Weston, and Colt; siblings, Bonnie (Hal) Berger, Margie Peterson, Sandy (Chuck) Davidson, Bobby (Barb) Glunz, Jim (Cindy) Glunz, John (Kim) Glunz, and Dana (Rick) Meyer; a brother-in-law, Al Huikko; many other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by his infant daughter, Brianna; his parents; infant sister, Monica Glunz; a sister, Debbie Huikko; a brother, Jerry Glunz; and by a brother-in-law, Ed Peterson.
A Memorial Service for Fred Glunz Sr. will be held on Friday, October 25, at 1:00 P.M. at The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo.
Visitation will be held on Friday morning, October 25, beginning at 10:00 A.M.

Marvel Korbel, 91
Marvel Joyce (Koolmo) Korbel, age 91, of Buffalo, MN, went to Heaven to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on October 11, 2024.
Marvel was born in Sherman Township of Menomonie, WI, on December 4, 1932, to Ole and Esther (Hendrikson) Koolmo. She was baptized on May 13, 1933, and reaffirmed her faith by Confirmation on May 18, 1947, at Christ Lutheran Church in Menomonie, WI.
Marvel attended grade school at Clack School in Boyceville, WI, and then completed two years of high school in Boyceville. After school, Marvel took on jobs in Minneapolis, MN, and later in life received her GED.
On September 14, 1951, Marvel Joyce Koolmo was united in marriage to Frankie Korbel from Boyceville, WI. Frankie was the love of Marvel’s life. Even after his death in 2021, Marvel continued to talk with Frankie reminiscing past adventures and their future together in eternity. To this union, six children were born.
Marvel held several different jobs throughout her life, but none more fulfilling than working at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Buffalo, MN. Marvel was a custodian of St. John’s for 27 years. She took much pride in making sure that the Father’s home was well-cleaned, that it was set up and organized for the next event, and that anyone who walked into the Church felt comfortable and welcomed.
Marvel was a dedicated wife, a loving and caring mother, and a daughter/sister who would do whatever was needed for fellow family members. She loved her grandchildren dearly and would often be heard speaking to them through the photo frame in her apartment. She was also a faithful servant of the Lord’s; greeting, serving, cooking, baking, gardening, and visiting for and with those that were not able to get out and about. Marvel’s commitment to the Lord included being a part of the LMWL (Lutheran Missionary Women’s League) at St. Johns and a part of Buffalo’s community Golden Ares.
Throughout her married life, Marvel helped Frankie remodel five homes. Together, they lived in Minneapolis, Buffalo, Longville, and back to Buffalo. For several years, they would venture to Arizona for their winter get aways and took many trips throughout the United States, two of them to Alaska.
Marvel remained humble throughout her life, always giving glory to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Marvel often spoke about Christ, her relationship with him, how he forgave her, and how she could not wait for the day she would go to Heaven. She knew she was a child of God and would be with him for eternity.
Survived by sons, David (Cynthia) Korbel, Daniel (Jackie) Korbel; daughter, Denise (Scott) Gertjejansen; son, Douglas Korbel; son, Dana (Suzanne) Korbel; and daughter, Darlene LaFave; 23 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren; sister, Karen (Barry) Wold; beloved in-laws; and many nephews and nieces.
Preceded by her beloved husband, Frankie Korbel; parents, Ole and Esther (Hendrikson) Koolmo; five brothers; eight sisters; in-laws; and nephews.

Evening visitation will be held Monday, October 21, 2024, from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M., with prayer service at 7:00 P.M. at St. John’s Lutheran Church (302 2nd Street NE, Buffalo, MN).
Funeral service will be held the next day at St. John’s Lutheran Church on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. with visitation beginning one hour prior. For those who cannot attend, the service will be livestreamed via the link: https://www.youtube.com/@StJohnsBuffalo.
Private interment will take place at the Minnesota State Veteran’s Cemetery in Little Falls, MN.

Betty Lambert, 95
Betty Jane Lambert, age 95, of Buffalo, passed away on Friday, October 11, 2024, at Park Terrace Assisted Living.
She was born on June 18, 1929, in French Lake Township, Wright County, the daughter of Jacob and Anna (Nikka) Lantto.
She was baptized on July 21, 1929, at home by Reverend John Nelson. She was confirmed in the Christian faith on June 13, 1943, by Reverend Adolph North at The Apostolic Lutheran Church in Cokato.
On October 14, 1950, Betty J. Lantto and Clinton G. Lambert were joined in holy marriage at The Apostolic Lutheran Church in Cokato. God blessed their marriage with four children.
Betty and Clinton farmed in Chatham Township, Wright County for many years. She also was formerly employed at the Buffalo Hospital and then the Buffalo School District.
Betty was a faithful member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Buffalo.
Survived by her loving children, Myra Robbin, Mona (Andrew Riehl) Hathaway, Mark (Karey) Lambert, and Gene (Mary Jo) Lambert; twelve grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren with another on the way; and one great-great grandchild; brother, Ken Lantto; and numerous relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by her husband, Clinton G. Lambert, on June 24, 2019; her parents; and 20 siblings.
A Memorial service for Betty Lambert will be held on Monday, October 21, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Buffalo with lunch to follow. Pastor Ryan Clark will officiate.
Inurnment will be held after the funeral at Howard Lake Cemetery.
A visitation will be held AT THE CHURCH on Monday, October 21, 2024, from 9:00 A.M. until time of services.
Urn Bearers will be Betty’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Kevin Ordorff, age 69, of Brooklyn Park (formerly of Buffalo), passed away on Friday, October 11, 2024, at North Memorial Hospital.

Grace Pederson, 84
Grace Marie Pederson, of Buffalo, Minnesota, was welcomed home to heaven on October 13, 2024, at the age of 84.
Grace was born to parents, Carroll and Olga Knudtson on April 19, 1940, in Whitehall, Wisconsin. She graduated from high school in Ellsworth, Wisconsin, and later attended the University of Wisconsin-Stout for over two years where she met her husband, David Martin Pederson, in October 1959.
David and Grace were married on February 25, 1961, and made their home in Caledonia, Glencoe, and eventually Buffalo, Minnesota, where they raised their family on a farm northwest of town.
Grace loved being a homemaker, real estate agent, and travel agent over the years and was active in many civic organizations, including Little Buffalo Nursery School, 4-H Club, Monticello Rotary Club, Monticello Chamber of Commerce, ASSE Student Exchange program (where she served over 250 foreign students), the Northwest Conference of the Evangelical Covenant Church, and Buffalo Covenant Church.
Above serving as president and board member in some of these organizations, Grace considered her most important role to be servant of Christ, wife, mom, grandmother, and Great Grandma GiGi.
Grace is survived by her husband, David; children, Mark (Valerie) Pederson, Elizabeth (Stephen) Shaffer, John (Jamie) Pederson, and Caryn (Michael) England; 10 grandchildren, Charissa, Anastasia, Luke, Joshua, Rebekah, Abigail, Peter, Daniel, David, and Matthew; six great-grandchildren, Lewis, Winston, Ari, Silas, Malachi, and Rhyan; sister, Marcia Miller; niece, Katelyn; and nephew, Benjamin.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate Grace’s life at Buffalo Ev. Covenant Church in Buffalo, MN, on Thursday, October 17, at 12:00 p.m. Visitation will precede the service beginning at 10:00 a.m.
Luncheon to follow the service at church.
Interment will be at the Swedish Mission Cemetery in Buffalo, MN.

Melvyn Stuhr, Jr., 86
Melvyn G. Stuhr, Jr. passed away on October 4, 2024, surrounded by his family. On Monday, October 21, 2024, the Wake will start at 9 a.m., with Funeral mass at 10:30 a.m., all at St. Timothy Church, Maple Lake, MN.
Melvyn was born on November 9, 1938, to Melvin and Emma Stuhr. He grew up in Maple Lake and graduated from Maple Lake High School.
He married his high school sweetheart, Dorothy Rogers, on June 28, 1958. They raised five children in Maple Lake and lived there till 2015, at which time they moved to Clearwater.
Melvyn worked as a truck driver for his dad at Mel Stuhr Trucking. At one time, they were trucking all over the US. And in 1965, Melvyn bought property just outside of Maple Lake.
Melvyn was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy; parents, Melvin (Sr.) and Emma Stuhr; brother, Curt Stuhr; granddaughter, Elizabeth Albertson; and great-granddaughter, Adilaide Johnston.
He is survived by his children, Aimee (Tim) Kittock, M. Daniel (Betty Jo ) Stuhr, Dennis (Dawn) Stuhr, Annette (Joe) Gunnerson, and Alison (Todd) Totz; by his grandchildren, Rita (Andy) Urlaub, Carter ( Allyssa) Kittock, Keegan (fiancée Leslie Sawatzke) Kittock, Ashley (Amon) Johnston, Daniel Stuhr, Samatha (James) Wilder, Kristi (fiancé Mike) Bermel, Chad (Alicia Buechler) Stuhr, Tyler (Kayla) Gunnerson, Whitney (Colton) Gettler, Dylan (Brittany Stroud) Gunnerson, Jessica (Mark) Pavlenko, Travis (Jenna) Totz; 27 great-grandchildren, with more on the way; and many nieces and nephews.
