Edward Anderson, 83
Edward H. Anderson, 83, of Belgrade, formerly of Buffalo, died Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at Bethesda Grand in Willmar. Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 19, 2024, at Crow River Lutheran Church near Belgrade. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at church. Interment with military honors will be 3:00 p.m., Saturday, October 19, 2024, at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Buffalo. www.hafh.org
Edward Harry Anderson, born on July 11, 1941, in Delano, the son of Harry and Olga (Barfknecht) Anderson. He grew up in Delano and graduated from Delano High School in 1958. In 1964, Ed married Betty Lou Reinitz, and together they were blessed with two sons, Shawn and Dean. Though they later divorced, Ed remained a devoted father and grandfather.
On March 16, 1966, Ed entered the U.S. Army, where he proudly served in the transportation division and earned sharpshooter status. He was honorably discharged on March 15, 1968. After returning to Minnesota, he settled in Buffalo, where he owned and operated Anderson Trucking until 2012.
In 2017, when Ed retired, he moved to Belgrade to be with his longtime side kick, Delores Walstrom. The couple enjoyed their retirement, sharing in motorcycle trips, dancing, and spending time with family and friends. Ed had a remarkable ability to connect with people and was known for making friends wherever he went.
Ed died on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at Bethesda Grand in Willmar, at the age of 83. He is survived by his partner of 24 years, Delores Walstrom; his son, Dean Anderson (Paula), of Appleton; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; his brothers, Donald (Judy) Anderson and Danny Anderson. Delores’ family, Kim (Darrell) Smith, Diane (Paul) Mutterer, Clay (Rhonda) Walstrom, Chris (Val) Walstrom; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Shawn; his parents; and his sister-in-law, LuAnn.
Fredrick Glunz Sr., 58
Fredrick Joseph Glunz Sr., age 58, of Buffalo, passed away on Friday, October 4, 2024, at his residence.

John Mingus, 89
John Eugene Mingus, age 89, of Buffalo, MN, formerly of Alexandria, MN, and Cromwell, MN, passed away September 2, 2024, at Haven Homes in Maple Plaine, MN.
Beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather. John was born in Cloquet, MN, on March 26,1935, son of Scott and Elizabeth (Dougal) Mingus.
John was the youngest of six children; he grew up in Cromwell, MN, later to settle in Minneapolis before moving to Alexandria in the late 70s.
He was employed as a brick layer for many years. After a work injury, he drove greyhound bus where he met the love of his life, Lorraine, moved to Alexandria where John and his wife, Lori, spent many summers boating and skiing with children and grandchildren at their lake home. He went to work for Lafarge Corp. selling cement to Redi-mix plants in the region.
After retiring from cement sales, he drove tour buses for Utopia Tours and later drove new buses to their final destinations all across North America, including Canada and Alaska. John was a former Douglas County Commissioner and served on the Sheriff posse for the area lakes. He also served in the National Guard.
He was an avid reader, especially the Louis L’Amour series, loved to hunt, especially turkey, had a passion for driving, and never passed up a good chocolate or an afternoon whiskey. John loved getting to know people and always remembered them.
Survived by his five daughters, Crystal Mingus, Valerie (Michael) Zumbusch, Jacqueline (Jim) Wolaver, Gale (Paul) Geske, and Lucille Mingus; 11 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine; grandson, Randy Leithe; one sister; and four brothers.
A Memorial service for John Mingus will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at 10:00 A.M. at The Peterson Chapel, 119 Central Avenue N, Buffalo, MN, followed by a toast and a lunch at Huikko’s Event Center in Buffalo.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 19, one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

Louise Novotny, 105
Louise Mary (Sykora) Novotny, age 105, of Willmar, MN, and formerly of Buffalo, MN, passed away on September 25, 2024, in Willmar, MN.
She was born June 7, 1919, in Maple Lake, MN, to Charles and Margaret (Kriss) Sykora, where she also grew up on the family farm.
She graduated from Maple Lake Public High School.
Louise married Gilbert Joseph Novotny on November 12, 1938. He preceded her in death on July 28, 1989. She later married Leonard Stokes on November 30, 1991. He preceded her in death on January 14, 2003.
In addition to helping out on the family farm, Louise belonged to the Maple Lake Home Makers Club, assisted at Farmers Sign Up at the courthouse, and at the Farm Fests in Wright County, when Governor Anderson and Cedric Adams would attend, and she helped serve them lunches at the concession stands. Louise volunteered for the Cancer Fund and the Red Cross. She was employed for twenty-one years at Wonderalls Manufacturing in Buffalo, MN.
After moving to Buffalo in 1990, Louise worked at the Chamber of Commerce, volunteered at the food shelf, and the Community Center. She loved playing cards, cooking, entertaining friends, and living at Tower Hill in Buffalo. Louise was also a devoted member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.
In 2014, Louise moved to Copperleaf Community Living Center in Willmar, MN, where she remained until 2018, when she moved to Bethesda Grand Senior Living in Willmar, MN.
Survived by son-in-law, Dudley Becker; grandchildren, Monica Rodeghiero, David (Amanda) Becker, Danielle (Brian) Novotny, and Dale (Shannon) Becker; great-grandchildren, Ashley, Shelby, Caroline, Luke, Jake, Rich, Noelle, and Gracyn; great-great-grandchildren, Esbe and Graham.
In addition to her husbands, Louise was also preceded in death by her daughters, Sharon Rodeghiero and Dona Becker; siblings, Edward Sykora, Charles (Mineva) Sykora Jr., Clarence (Violet) Sykora, Melvin (Ruby) Sykora, Maybelle Sykora, Leone (Ray) Gorrill, Ray Sykora, and a sister who died in infancy.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Louise Novotny will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Buffalo, MN. Father Austin Barnes will be the Celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Timothy’s East Cemetery, Maple Lake, MN.
Visitation will be held AT THE CHURCH on Saturday, October 19, one hour prior to Mass.
Casket Bearers will be her great grandchildren, Ashley, Shelby, Caroline, Luke, Jake, Rich, Noelle, and Gracyn.

Lee Pauli, 84
Lee Judith Pauli: November 21, 1939 - September 16, 2024
Lee Judith Pauli (nee Johnson) aged 84 passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on September 16, 2024. Lee was born in Buffalo, Minnesota, on November 21, 1939. She attended Buffalo Senior High School and then the University of Minnesota where she studied Physical Therapy. During her time at U of M, she participated in synchronized swimming and was proud to be the only female in her chemistry class.
Lee is survived by her children, Lynn Esp, Kerry Wagner, Chris (Debbie) Wagner; grandchildren, Ezra Otto (fiancée Kristin), Jake Esp (fiancée Katelynn), Abby Wagner (fiancé Dylan), Annaleah Esp, Kiki Wagner, Olivia Wagner; and great-granddaughter, Hunter Esp.
She is also survived by Dan (Stephanie) Pauli, Aeden Pauli, Eric (Annie) Pauli, Shamus and Liam Pauli. She is further survived by her sisters, Lynn White, Paula (Charley) Streiff, Vicky (Tom) Stringer; sister-in-law, Bev Johnson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Verna Johnson; her brother, Kim Johnson; and her husband, Stan Pauli.
During her career as a Physical Therapist, she was employed by Saint Coletta of Greater Wisconsin, Happy Times Day Center, Jefferson School District, Milwaukee Public School District, Shared Therapeutic Services, and Lutheran Social Services. In 1996, Lee was named Physical Therapist of the Year by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel as a result of her positive and encouraging dedication to her patients and the Physical Therapy Industry.
In addition to attending many activities of her grandchildren, one of her greatest joys was volunteering in the Santisimo Sacramento Physical Therapy clinic in Piura Peru. During her five trips to Peru, she used her skills as a Pediatric Physical Therapist to work with young people, as well as teach their families how to do the exercises so that they could work with their children after she returned to the states. She also helped transport wheelchairs, walkers, therapy balls, and other equipment to Peru. When her trips to Peru ended, she continued as an active fundraiser for the mission.
Lee was a warm and loving mother and grandmother with a deep appreciation for the talents of her family. She took great interest in their work and school life. She was a service driven humanitarian who had a keen ability to anticipate and meet unspoken needs through financial and volunteer assistance. She was a hardworking team player who was loved by her patients, supervisors, and co-workers.
Lee’s hobbies include knitting, yoga, walking, reading, and baking. She was famous in our family for her caramel rolls, German pancakes, lemon poppyseed bread, and seven-layer bars. She always made sure to have each grandchild‘s favorite on hand when they arrived.
Lee enjoyed watching sports, attending plays, jazz and blues concerts, as well as two tablespoons of Tito’s (on the rocks!)
During retirement, she tutored elementary students in reading at Cushing Elementary, Delafield, Wisconsin. She was able to incorporate her physical therapy training in encouraging the students to read.
Lee’s family would like to thank Angels Grace Hospice Team, especially Nurse Katie, Chaplain Jennifer, and Music Therapist Rory.
Services for Lee will be held on October 24, 2024, at Saint Joan of Arc Parish, 120 Nashotah Road in Delafield, Wisconsin. There will be a visitation from 10:30 A.M. – 12:30 P.M. followed by Mass at 12:30 P.M. At Lee’s request, the family will be wearing bright colors.
