Linda Kay Devens, our dear mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt Linda Devens, left this world peacefully on Sunday, August 13, 2023, at age 73, after battling scleroderma, CREST Syndrome, a rare autoimmune disease for over 40 years.
She was born on August 1, 1950, in Benson, Minnesota, the daughter of Leo S. and Marlys L. (Olson) Dahl.
Linda spent most of her career in property management overseeing multi-site locations. She also formerly owned and operated Billy Bob’s in Rockford, where she brought friends, family, and the community together.
Linda’s greatest love was her grandchildren. She was so proud of each of them. You would find Linda on the sideline of every sport or activity for her grandchildren, if her health allowed. Linda was known for making every birthday and every holiday special, particularly Christmas. Linda’s favorite things were cooking, baking breads and cookies, playing bingo with her sister; she also enjoyed playing Gin 13 and Euchre, and most important to her, bringing family and friends together. Linda had a generous heart, so kind and caring. She had a way of making everyone feel special and loved.
Linda is survived by her two daughters, Toni Denardo, of Grantsburg, Wisconsin (fiancé Scott Vogel), and Heather (Daniel) Holmberg, of Andover; grandchildren, Brooke and Madison Denardo, and Gage, Liam, and Olivia Holmberg; a sister, LeAnn Waldvogel, of Rockford; other relatives and many friends.
Preceded in death by two grandchildren, Zachary Boney and Maxwell Holmberg; her parents; two brothers, Dennis Dahl and David Olson; a niece, Karla Dahl; and by a nephew, Kenny Beaupre.
